A day like today…
A day like today makes me think of KJAM Radio, my previous place of employment. How I would love to be on the air during a blizzard warning. My reasoning: lots of cancellations.
You see, KJAM is a local-area radio station, FM is country – AM is 70s-90s soft rock and news. I typically was on the AM side. In between every couple of songs, we were to make local announcements. Some days were slow. I’d be reading the Madison High School bake sale and Lutheran Bible study at every break. It’s hard to fill in 60 seconds of talking when you have nothing to talk about. Somehow, through genetics, I managed.
Days like this, however, when there are 25 event cancellations and one must announce the weather at every single break because it is so dangerous, it’s very exciting and the time goes by fast. But instead, I am sitting in my dorm room…hoping I’m not stuck here for the next 10 days. I even stocked up on food this afternoon in case I can’t leave at all. Looking back on it…this is kind of a lame post. I’ll have to remember this for next year’s eSIPs.

Do you still have left over pizza from Pizza Hut? You could eat that, but that would be gross becase it’s over a month old. Don’t eat the pizza.

I miss radio too. But I miss it more for the hot babes and naked celebrities that every radio DJ gets to hang out with. Right???!?!? Right?!?!????
