The two times that we've had to evacuate the apartment for weather-related reasons, I've grabbed: the Macbook and bag, with my iPod touch, the video camera bag (video camera and digital camera inside), both external hard drives, and Haji. And my wife. And our car. And I always have my cellphone on me.

Hard to tell what I'd save...

Don't have a lot of photos, nothing that really couldn't be replaced at some point. Probably cell phone? It'd be an outlet for help.

I'm about to update the blog with a link I got from a fellow teacher. With all the footage and photos available, these are the most awe-inspiring I have seen yet.

What would I save? Photos of loved ones for sure. I need to scan some of them in. There would be no replacing them if lost. The negatives and duplicates have been lost or displaced over the years.

Without a doubt, I'd go external hard drive, then iPod. Then I'd probably see if I could spare the time to bring my comic books. I have five shoe-boxes worth now and it would be really depressing to lose all of those because I'm hoping someday, in one way or another, they'll be worth money. And maybe my Wii if I still had magical bonus time. And the rest of my video games. But that's quite a stretch because it's easily two or three car trips and I don't think I'd be able to spare the time if an F-5 were bearing down upon my humble abode.

Maybe I'd just drive my car through the wall into the living room and just load everything up in one trip. The apartment would end up getting destroyed anyway, so they wouldn't know. That seems like a viable solution to my problem.
