A Whole Lotta Stuff

T-shirt IdeaMiles and I submitted a T-shirt idea for Campus Progressive, a political conference thing for college-aged students. This is what we submitted. Who knows if it will win anything. The coolest thing of all is that David Cross (Tobias from Arrested Development) is one of the judges!

I’ve been doing work for Larry Noble, an Iowa Senate candidate that my brother works for. I don’t want to put anything online with that, for the sake of his campaign. I made a fundraiser invitation and am now making another graphic for the campaign.

I’m helping a friend make some graphics for a website he is creating for a South Dakota organization. So far, I’ve made a new logo for them that seems to be accepted well.

Haji2 Miles and the rest of his family are currently on their way to France. I’m taking care of Haji. They’ll be gone until June 23rd. I went to Big Stone with him Friday, and they left for the cities on Saturday. We’ll maybe get to talk next week on our 6 month anniversary. Otherwise, I’ll be getting letters/postcards and hopefully email will be a good source. It’s lonely here in Brookings, since I don’t know anyone…so now that I won’t be talking on the phone with him for the next two weeks, I’ve got to find ways to keep myself busy. Tonight’s not going so well. If you’re bored in the next few weeks, please feel free to call and chat. :)

But last night, after a quick conversation with camp friend Bryan I made the 2 hour trip to Sioux City to meet up with 7 friends. Bryan, Debra, Luke, Deb, Ben, Doug, and Liz. I brought Haji. We ate at Red Robin and then went to Luke and Deb’s place to play lots of video games. If you know me and video games, it usually results in me standing up, yelling a lot, and twisting and turning my body. This video game consisted of purposely crashing your car and seeing how much damage in $ you make. But I was racing. And it was a long race. I got a head ache. Then I went to sleep in Haji’s designated room. When we woke up, we ate at Panera where we saw a man with a kilt. Then I left, shopped in Sioux Falls, and returned to Brookings. But I’m glad I got blessed with a very non-lonely night. I return to camp at Okoboji on Thursday night to help out for the weekend. So that is something to look forward to. I think Haji’s pooped out.

Bonne nuit! Good night!

Mile High Fizz Bessie

Heather comic My title is a Mad Gab I made up. Even at 4:15 AM I am a genius! But also, since it’s after 4:00AM, I probably will have lots of grammer mistakes in here. And I don’t want to fix them…it’s 4:00AM for goodness’s sake!

Saturday evening, after our play and going to Mass, Miles and I went out to Ben’s place. Lisa, Holly, and Bob were there as well. There we brought in horses. I didn’t because I’m pretty much terrified of them; I took pictures. We ate some delicious ribs and beans and chips and then played Roulette (American, not Russian) and Blackjack. We did this for many hours and then Miles and I came back to town and finished Harry Potter III (three).

Miles and I met up at noonish Sunday to eat at China Moon. Then we did homework all day long and he helped me understand Web Publishing II better, now I’ve nearly finished my work with that which otherwise would have taken me two weeks. Then we performed as Comedy Bytes at the KSI honors banquet. Miles and I are members, so we stayed for the meal and everything. Then we rented Harry Potter IV. After many problems, we started to watch it on my tablet. Then he got tired so he left. original I tried to sleep. Three times I tried. I’ve decided I won’t sleep and I will just nap from like 2:30-5:30, before we perform tomorrow at 7:00 and at 10:00.

The picture at the beginning is of my friend Heather when we were in Florida over Christmas break. The picture down here is the original. For Photography II, we were to take a picture and make it look like it came out of a comic book. I think I did pretty well. And it was fun to make. Yippee!

Tomorrow morning at 8:30 Miles and I go down to KJAM to have an on-air interview about the play. It should be a good time. We’ll see how “on” I am with little to no sleep! The Mad Gab for my title answer is: My Life Is Busy

Eye Candy is Del.ic.ious

Miles's Anniversary GiftAnniversary
Miles and I celebrated our three month anniversary (that’s a quarter of a year) on Tuesday. We ate at China Moon and sat by the door. It was like negative 100 degress outside, and 500 people came in to the restaurant too. Miles picked the table. We then went to play practice. Miles made me the picture on the right, using Photoshop, for a gift. I gave him a little ring thing that some bathroom stalls have around the toilet paper dispencer pole. Apparently he collects them. He was overjoyed about it.

Fond Memories of Okoboji
I was looking at a bulletin board today and saw a poster that advertised for Lake Okoboji United Methodist Camp and Retreat Center. That is my previous place of summer employment! I was in complete shock! There were three phone number stubs missing too, so I wonder who was interested from DSU. Anyway, I thought it was pretty stinkin’ cool.

Comedy Bytes 2006Spring Production
The spring play has been drastically changed. Adrienne Boese is doing a monologue, Fifteen Minutes. Then our play, The Actor’s Nightmare, is being performed. We’ll have an intermission and concessions, and then Comedy Bytes will perform. Comedy Bytes is also having a few late night performances, of just the comedy troupe without the other one-acts. It should be a really good production. I think Comedy Bytes being hooked on to the other two in the early show will bring a lot more to those shows than would normally go. At the Dakota Prairie Playhouse, April 7, 10, 11 at 7:00 and April 8 at 2:00 are all three peformances. Also at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse, April 7 and 10 at 10:00 are Comedy Bytes only performances. Also, on April 8 at 9:00 is a Comedy Bytes jam session, where anyone can come and just do some improvisation games with us for a good time. I’m pretty excited about it all. Come and see it and laugh hard!

PhotographySchool
In Literature, we’re watching Mel Gibson’s Hamlet. I’m really excited about this because I wanted to rent it (I saw it in high school) and possibly buy it off eBay or something later on. So at least I’m getting my fill, for now. In Photography, we were to use Photoshop and enlarge or shrink yourself into a photograph and make it look as real as you can. I think I did a pretty decent job, especially if you compare it to David’s work.

Weekend Plans
Good times are to come this weekend as Miles, David, Bryce, Lindsey, Chris, and I travel to Fargo to visit Tony. Look at all those hyperlinks! Pretty exciting times to come soon, I hope it doesn’t suck as much as my visit to Marshall last month. I’m sure it won’t. Plus, Tony’s way cool. And so is Fargo…… :)
