DrawnTown block party

Because of grad school classes on Tuesday nights, we hadn’t been to a DrawnTown since 2009! Since my classes finished up for the summer in July, we could attend a special block party event where DrawnTown participants were invited to come and do their DrawnTowny thing. So we went and enjoyed some music for a while. Ian also enjoyed some music, but mostly enjoyed Daddy’s hair. View the rest of the set here.

DrawnTown six

My pieces from tonight’s DrawnTown, hosted by Graphic Content. I’ve attended all but one, and as usual, the gathering was wonderful. The location, Rug and Relic, had lots of room and interesting things to draw. A great locale choice.

Hanging fixture

A hanging light fixture. Thought the angle might be interesting, and then five minutes in, decided it wasn’t too fun for my neck. So, I wish I could have spent more time on it.

InDesign Trick

I learned this trick from GoMediaZine on Friday. Tried it yesterday. It will literally change my layout life. Works like a charm and I can’t believe I lined up any other way! I had to share.

In Adobe InDesign, move your cursor right before the first letter of the paragraph on the first line of your bulleted list. Press ctrl + \ and the other lines will fall in directly below that one. You are left with a clean left justified bulleted item. NOTE: When setting your rags by hand on the item, do not use a hard return (Enter) or the trick will not work. If you need to insert a manual break, use a soft return (Shift + Enter) and the list will still line up correctly.

Thank you, GoMediaZine.
